These natural works of art are created by John. He uses reclaimed wood to make the frame of the abode and then fills the "rooms" with completely organic materials from around the farm that attract beneficial insects. The bamboo and drilled wooden block rooms are perfect homes for Mason Bees and Leafcutter Bees. These gentle, solitary bees will pollinate your flowers and vegetables as much as 20 X that of a single honey bee. These same rooms as well as the room with pinecones attract beneficial insects like lacewings and ladybugs that will prey on pest like aphids and eliminate your need for harmful chemicals from pesticides. John also includes a room filled with alpaca fiber. Birds such as the barn swallow absolutely love to use alpaca fiber in their nests. Barn Swallows are voracious insect eaters. They can consume 60 insects per hour. That's 850 per day or 25,000 per month! See the picture of the barn swallow nest made almost completely out of our alpaca fiber!
John's Beneficial Bug Abodes are 11 inches by 11 inches square. Each one is a one of a kind work of natural and functional art.
